Mission

The Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area (HACA) is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization established in 1961 to serve persons with bleeding disorders and their families in northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland. It is a local chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation and a member of the Hemophilia Federation of America.

HACA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with hemophilia and von Willebrand’s disease and their families through education, advocacy, and member services; to promote research and to raise money to fulfill these purposes.
